The role
Senior individual contributor role responsible for designing and building the technical foundation for Brightline Labs' next stage of growth. The role leads architecture and implementation for major product and platform initiatives, writes and reviews production code, improves reliability and engineering practices, and provides technical leadership across teams.
What you’ll bring
Strong software engineering fundamentals; significant experience building and operating production software; deep backend application development experience; experience designing complex backend or distributed systems; strong experience with at least one modern programming language; API and service integration design experience; strong relational database and data modeling knowledge; cloud infrastructure experience; reliability and failure-recovery system design experience; software architecture and system design expertise; complex production debugging experience; strong written and verbal communication; ability to influence technical decisions across engineers or teams; mentoring experience; and ability to balance long-term architecture with practical business needs.

What to expect in the interview process
Initial recruiter conversation followed by a hiring manager interview. Qualified candidates will then meet members of the engineering team for a technical discussion focused on past work, problem solving, and practical engineering judgment. Final candidates will have a short leadership conversation before an offer decision is made.
