The role

Pursuing is seeking a hands-on Python Engineer to build and scale systems supporting its legal technology and client acquisition platform. The role works across backend services, integrations, automation, data workflows, and AI-enabled products connecting consumers with law firms across the United States. The engineer will own features from initial problem through production deployment and ongoing improvement.

What you’ll bring

3 or more years of professional software engineering experience. Strong professional Python experience; production backend systems; REST API design and consumption; relational databases and SQL; PostgreSQL or another production relational database; Git and modern software development workflows; Linux environments; authentication, authorization, and secure API design; independent debugging of unfamiliar systems; deployment and production support; strong communication; and translating loosely defined business requirements into working software. Must be able to design, build, maintain, and support production software.

What to expect in the interview process

Initial recruiter conversation followed by a hiring manager interview. Qualified candidates then meet engineering team members for a technical discussion focused on past work, problem solving, and practical engineering judgment.
